WHEREAS

an

Amendment

to

introduce

mandatory

contributions for

the Contracting

Governments of the Plant

Protection Agreement for

the Asia and Pacific Region open for signature at

Rome from the Twenty-seventh day of February to

the Thirtieth day of June, One thousand Nine

hundred and Fifty-six, was approved at the

Eighty-fourth Session of the Council of the Food

and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations

in November 1983;

AND

WHEREAS the

Agreement

provides

in

paragraph 4 of Article IX that such an Amendment

requires

acceptance by

Contracting Governments;

two-thirds

of

the
