OFFICIAL NAMES OF CIS, YUGOSLAVIA AND CZECHOSLOVAKIA

1. I have checked your list with Research and Analysis Department. Your list of CIS states is correct except for the following minor points: Republic of Kyrgyzstan (not Kirgizstan); Turkmenistan (not Republic of Turkmenistan); Ukraine (not Republic of Ukraine).

2. Czechoslovakia is still the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic.

3. Yugoslavia is now considered to be four entities:

a) Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina

b) Republic of Croatia

c) Republic of Slovenia

d) Federal Republic of Yugoslavia
