Thank you for your letter of 19 August inwhich you ask whether Hong Kong is part of Her Majesty's dominions.

I have sought our Legal Adviser's opinion on this and she has commented:- Her Majesty's dominions are all territories which "belong to" the Crown or are in the "ownership" of the crown; it includes Colonies such as Hong Kong (see pages 23 and 26 of Sir Kenneth Roberts-Wrays' book Commonwealth and Colonial Law).
