SEMINAR AND VISIT, 1993
1.
Each year the CPA UK Branch organises a seminar and a visit for Parliamentarians from CPA Branches in other Commonwealth countries. The UK Branch's Seminar Sub-Committee will meet on 19 November to allocate places for 1993 from the applications received.
2. The Seminar will take place from 2-13 March 1993 and will provide Commonwealth MPs with an opportunity to exchange views on Parliamentary matters. It will also give them an insight into the workings of the British Parliament. The visit, in May, (precise dates not yet decided) will include a regional tour and a series of informal discussions at Westminster. There are 25 places to be filled in each case.
3. I attach a list of bids received from CPA overseas branches, with details of previous attendances. The final column shows the CPA UK Branch Secretary's recommendations. If your Department would like to press for priority to be given to Parliamentarians from any particular country or dependent territory, please could you let me know by cop on Tuesday 17 November. I should like to inform the CPA Secretary of the FCO's preferences before the meeting.
