民主會是個甚麼組織?
Committed to universal suffrage and free
港民主促進會(簡稱民主會)成立於1989年
種族,不分社會階層的全民性的民主組織。成立 過程完全自發與獨立,與香港內外任何組織沒有
任何正式的連繫。
根據會席,民生會須致力推動香港民主 政制,捍衞香港之法治社會及自由經濟,以確保
香港穩定繁榮。
民主會乃非牟利組織,並已依據香港公司法 註冊成為有限公司,其資產為會員共同擁有。 日常管理運作則由董事局(即常務委員會)全權 負責;董事局每年經由全體會員選舉產生。
民主會由誰組成?
民
主會會員以香港為家,願意為香港前途作出 貢獻。成員不分種族,不論文化,彼此融洽 共處,羣策群力,推廣會務。早期會員多來自學術 界、工商界及各專業團體,但日前已逐步擴展至 包括社會各個階曆,務求能夠全面反映各階層之 意願。
任何人祇須堅信民主自由的原則,認同本會 的宣言,願意遵守本會規則,即可成為會員。
會員之會籍由常務委員會審核批准。

不但有意義,而且多姿多采:
一爭取全民普選行政首長;
一争取全民一人一票產生立法議會;

一加強港人民主意識,在一般公共事務上促進
民主精神;
一就公共事務、社會問題及重大事件表達我們
的意見;
一支持志同道合者參與各公開選舉,包括 區議會、市政局、區域市政局及立法局; 一鼓勵及支持民主會會員參選;
民主會如何運作?
務委員會由十五個常委組成,包括主席、
之外,亦就工作類別設立多個常設委員會。
至於日常行政事務,則由設於中環會址的 秘書處之全職員工負責。民主會之會務及文件 處理,皆中英並行,任何會員需通曉一種語言, 即可順利參與本會所有活動。

What is the Hong Kong
Democratic Foundation?
t is a strictly non-profit making organization
I committed to the promotion and establishment
of a democratic government in Hong Kong, Registered with the Hong Kong Government as a company limited by guarantee, its assets are jointly owned by all its members. Its affairs are managed
by its Board of Directors (General Committee) which is elected annually by the membership.
Who are we?
e are men and women committed to the
W future of Hong Kong for whom Hong Kong is
home. Membership is open to all and we aim to reflect the aspirations and concerns of all levels of society. Our affairs are conducted in Chinese and English. We're multi-racial and multi-cultural. The only requirement for membership is a shared
commitment to the principles of democracy and free enterprise, as outlined in our manifesto.
What do we do?
ur main concern is to advance the cause of
O democratic government in Hong Kong. Our
concern is for Hong Kong only. We are not
formally allied with any other organizations either
inside or outside of Hong Kong.
We are committed to the eventual
establishment of universal suffrage and a wholly
directly elected legislature. To that end, we will either field our own candidates or support
candidates of like mind in all public elections:
District Boards, the Urban Council and Regional Council and the Legislative Council.
We also aim to expand the level of awareness throughout Hong Kong.
How are we organised?

The
persons including a Chairman and Vice Chairman, has the overall responsibility for management. In addition to the General Committee, Standing Committees have been formed to work on specific tasks. Day-to-day administration is handled by the Hong Kong Democratic Foundation's permanent staff at our office in Central.
