Syndicated fraud involving the use of counterfeit credit cards is
still a cause for concern. Police have in recent months seized some 500
forged credit cards and detected a well established counterfeit workshop.
It has been revealed from investigation that members of the fraud
syndicates are trying to obtain legitimate cards from banks by using fales
identities and forged tax returns instead of forging counterfeit cards.
All banking institutions have been informed about this and reminded of the
need for more careful vetting of credit card applications.
