In addition to the above applicants, there are still four outstanding non-judiciary applications. Two of these are from women who were granted overseas status upon marriage to overseas officers:

Mrs Roper

Mrs BY L Smith

Superintendent of Police Senior Superintendent

The other two are Mr Boxall, Assistant Director of Environmental Protection, whose date of transfer to P&P was made effective from a future date and Mr Raymond Chan, Structural Engineer who was born in Hong Kong and whose expatriate status is in doubt.

You are already looking into several of these cases and we still have to decide about the question of applicants who are over retirement age, but I would be grateful for your comments on any of the other applications. In particular it would be helpful to know whether you agree with my assumption in categories i) and ii) that we should be able to approve these applications once their P&P applications have been approved and they have passed their medicals. I will be happy to provide any papers on any of the applicants should you need them.

Yars sincerely, Bridger bus
