Commuted pension gratuity
Officers eligible for annual pension may opt to commute, in steps of 5%, up to 50% of their pension into a pension gratuity at a commutation factor of 14. If they so opt, they will receive, in lieu of their pension, a lump sum commuted pension gratuity plus a correspondingly reduced annual pension.
(F) Deemed increase in pensionable service
An officer's pensionable service shall

A minimum pension equivalent to 1/4 of an officer's highest pensionable emoluments is payable upon retirement on medical grounds.
Benefits on resignation
An officer who resigns from the service, with the approval of the Chief Justice, after completing not less than 10 years continuous qualifying service, will be eligible for a deferred pension. Unless the Governor directs otherwise (e.g. on strong compassionate grounds), a deferred pension will not be payable until an officer reaches the age of 60 (but for an officer appointed before 1 July 1987, a deferred pension is payable when he
he reaches the age of 55). Deferred pension benefits attract pension increases. Officers are required to give 3 months notice of resignation, failing which they are required to
required to pay one month's salary in lieu. The Chief Justice may waive notice period in exceptional circumstances.
