I refer to your fax letter of 17 July, 1992 concerning the projected pension liabilities of HMOCS officers and the numbers of these officers in 1997 in connection with compensation calculations,

My replies to your enquiries are as follows

(a)(1) The number of potential HMOCS Police Officers now 85, including 77 applications for both the transfer to P&PE and HMOCS membership; and 8 applications from existing P&PE Police Officers for KMOCS membership. (Our previous report of 67 officers refers to applications in the hands of the Police Force and does not include applications being processed by Branch).

(ii) We are still not yet in a position to advise how many other contract officers are likely to be accepted for P&PE ag their applications require careful examination. There are 148 and 130 applications for P&PE and HMOCS membership respectively from these contract officers.
Out of the 18 HMOCS members (the July 91 data), 11 of them are also on the list of the 57 overseas P&PE officers. A list of these officers with their particulars (1.e. whether on P&PE) and their current HMOCS status is at Annex B.
The
number of serving HMOCS Administrative Grade Officers who will be aged 57 or above on or before 30 June, 1997 is 20; their names are marked with X(A) on the list we sent to you by bag vide my letter of 16 July 1992.
