I attach a table of territories, dates and caps as you requested. Where the cap is denominated in local currency I have applied th POA rate appropriate to that territory.
The R.P.I. uprate does not include the increase for 1992 (4.10%) as the tables we have provided previously are based on the 1991 salaries of Hong Kong HMOCS officers.
Without going through every compensation scheme, there is no way of finding out the first and last scheme to apply a cap of £12,000. However, three territories are listed where caps of £12,000 were used; the earliest being 1959, and the latest 1968. I hope this will do but, if not, let me know.
Given that one or two of the caps produce an R.P.I. uprate of more than £120,000, I am also sending you" tables 7 and 8 which show the effects of caps of £130,000 and £140,000 respectively,
