(a) in the United Kingdom;
(b) in Hong Kong;
(c) in the country from which the officer was recruited or
where he intends to reside;
(d) in the case of payment to the dependants or personal
representatives of an officer, in the country in which they reside;
(e) in such country as the officer or his dependants or
personal representatives may, with the concurrence of the Secretary of State, select;
and where payment is to be made in a place other than the United Kingdom, the payment will be made at the official rate of exchange prevailing as between sterling and the currency of that place prevailing at the time of the payment.
