While it is inappropriate to disclose details of the bid which contains commercially sensitive material, the Airport Committee, the Legislative Council Ad Hoc Group to study the Financial Arrangements for the New Airport and Related Projects and the Airport Consultative Committee will be kept informed of progress towards awarding the franchise.

Arrangements are being made for the UK REP JLG to inform the Chinese side of the Airport Committee about receipt of the tender and to remind them of the timetable for awarding the franchise.

PUBLICITY

A press release was issued on 3 July, advising that a single BOT tender had been received, together with two other proposals and that a decision on the terms of the franchise was expected by early 1993.
