developing the Master Plan over the last eighteen or so
months, the PAA's consultants, Greiner-Maunsell, have drawn
wide range of expertise both internationally and
locally.
Mrs Chan acknowledged the significant
contribution made by the Director of Civil Aviation and his
staff and other Government departments in the development
of the Plan especially in the early part of the study when
the PAA itself was being established. "Much remains to be
done;"
· said Mrs Chan "There will continue to be a need for
close co-operation between Government and the PAA in moving
the plan from a conceptual level to one of detailed design
and construction. Our common objective is to develop on
safe, efficient, financially
time and within budget
viable and environmentally acceptable new airport."
