CONFIDENTIAL UK EYES A
NORTH AMERICA
6.
No change to last years allocation, with four places to the
United States and one to Canada.
Australasia
7. Again, as for last year, with two places to Australia and one
to New Zealand.
MIDDLE EAST/NORTH AFRICA
8.
The
regional allocation
remains at four, with the
consequence that Kuwait, a strong contender, can only be placed
high on the reserve list. Places are proposed for Egypt, Isreal,
Oman and Saudi Arabia. UAE recommended for a a floating place.
Jordan and Bahrain to be placed on the reserve list, but only to
replace Arab countries.
AFRICA
9.
Places recommended for Nigeria, which remains the most
important country outside South Africa, and Zambia, where a
potential candidate has been identified. Kenya, where we continue
to enjoy training and transit facilities, and Zimbabwe to be
placed on the reserve list. It is still too early to consider
offering a place to South Africa.
