Conton?
I wrote to departments on 10 January asking for comments on an MOD document concerning procedures for foreign military aircraft requesting diplomatic clearance to overfly/stopover in the UK. I subsequently produced a list (attached) of sensitive countries on which the MOD are required to consult the FCO.
2.
The MOD have now asked (letter attached) for comments on RAF regulations for the approval and clearance of flights to destinations abroad (last updated 10 years ago !). I attach two lists which identify countries which the RAF are prohibited from visiting and countries for which prior FCO clearance is required. would be grateful for your comments by cop 28 May whether or not countries on the lists should remain
t there or if any countries should be added.
3.
Annex A of the document covers the amended entries in the document for Yugoslavia and the former USSR, I would also be grateful for CED and Eastern Departments comments on these redraftds.
