The exercise was originally prompted by doubts raised
over previous delegation procedures but is also in line with our policy of continuing delegation to departments.
The MPS 14 cut-off would delegate responsibility in respect of 68 grades (e.g. Clerical Assistants, Office
Assistants, Postmen, Typists, Estate Caretakers).
Grades above MPS 14 (e.g. Clerical Officers, Nurses)
would be excluded.
