I have been asked by the DPP to send to you a copy of a letter sent recently by Kevin Cahill to Rita Fan, member of the LegCo, together with its enclosures.

You will notice that one of the enclosures is a copy of the confidential telex of 20 December 1985, which document, amongst such other papers, was ruled immune from production in the Public Interest by the Divisional Court in the course of UK4.

The DPP asks that I request that you contact the Treasury Solicitor to see whether or not the communication of this confidential telex to Cahill and by Cahill to Rita Fan could amount to a contempt of court in the light of the ruling of the Divisional Court.
