1. Thank you for your letter of 31 July reporting the renewed interest in the future nationality status of the Hong Kong Indian Community.

2. We shall obviously have to keep a close eye on this over the coming months. It may be necessary at some time to go to the Indian MFA to give them a full briefing on the issue but we agree with you that to do so now might be
