1. The New Zealanders have not asked to discuss Hong Kong and we would not propose that the Secretary of State should

aware raise it. But he may wish to be reminded that the Governor of Hong Kong will be visiting New Zealand from

20-23 November. His programme will include calls on

Mr Bolger and the Ministers for Finance and Trade

Negotiations, as well as the Leader of the Opposition and

the Governor-General.
