Annex B

Schedule of Requirements: Summary and Notes.

1. Target Areas.

The gross target areas based on the net areas given, with allowance for plant accommodation, circulation etc, excluding open verandahs or courtyards should not exceed 19 000 m2

2. General Notes.

(a) All areas, including storage, workshops, servants quarters and circulation areas are to be air conditioned unless otherwise stated. Garages and plant accommodation will not be air con- ditioned.

(b) Storage areas should be at ground floor I basement level unless provision is made for special access.

(c) The needs of the disabled are to be taken into account with regard to access and sanitary facilities.

3. Particular Requirements: The Offices Building,

(a) The design should ensure that all members of the public can only gain access to the general internal circulation areas through controlled air ....locks.

(b) Seperate staff entrances shall be accessible through an entry controlled by electronic locks fron the main receptions of British Consulate General and British Council. Ideally they should not entail trepublic waiting

areas.

(c) A Unix computer system is to be installed: will be given at the next stage. Allow for a 300mm raised floor at this stage in all areas .

(d) Sections within the SOR are defined as "Red" and "Green" zones. These terms provide a vehicle for later development of specific requirements

applicable to such zones. At this stage the designer should note:

CLEAN POWER AND TRUNKING WILLBE REQUIRED, WITH SEPARATE DATA CAALING

DETAILED QUIDANIG

TRUNKING.

* Red and green zones are subject to strict access procedures, requiring a defined route of access through controlled access doors.

*Windows to such zones should be sealed with anti-bandit glazing.

*There are specific services requirements applicable (see Annex C).

(e) Particular space definitions are used within the SOR:

"Office": An occupied room, with if practical, natural daylight.

"Room" A space not occupied on a permanent basis, but having a function which involves staff working on occasions in the area.(Daylight desirable unless otherwise stated).

"Store" A space not occupied by working personnel for which daylight is not a requirement .
