ARRANGEMENTS INTO FORCE : HONG KONG AND THE CAYMAN ISLANDS

1.

The recent Order in Council designating the Cayman Islands and Hong Kong under the 1986 Drug Trafficking Offences Act means that both arrangements can now come into force. Hong Kong and the Cayman Islands informed us that they had designated the UK under their equivalent legislation on 8 January 1991 and 22 July 1991 respectively.

2. John Millett has written (letters attached) to Hong Kong and the Cayman Islands notifying them of the UK's designation. This means the Arrangements will come into force on 28 August

1991.
