1. Thank you for copying to me your submission of 5 December on ratification of the convention. There is one point I should raise. It appears that we now have decided on the UK reservations. I hope we can copy them quickly to the Dependent Territories so that they have a chance to assess their decision whether to ratify in the light of this important further knowledge. They may wish to draft their own

reservations and the UK reservations will give them a good example on which to base their work.
