The purpose of
this
visit was to gain a

comprehensive understanding on the situation in China. I
am sure that this aim has been achieved during the past few
days, despite its short duration.
In all the meetings
arranged for us,
detailed discussions were held and views
exchanged. Your enthusiasm and warm reception have left a
deep impression on us. With the co-operation of Mr Wang
and all others, we are fully committed to the concepts of
"one country, two systems" and "Hong Kong people ruling
Hong Kong" in facing future challenges, so as to make Hong
Kong more stable and prosperous.
