On none of these occasions did China take retaliatory action against Hong Kong (nor, I think, against the UK) linked to the move. While it is none of my business to say so it seems manifestly in the UK's commercial interest to develop contacts with Taiwan. I doubt very much if the Chinese will blame us in Hong Kong for what London does. For them to do so would suggest an absolute reversal of their perception of who controls who in our relationship.
