Dear Sirs,

HILD 1661 90 20

FERLIGE

As a member of AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL,

I am writing you this

letter to let you know that I am welcoming Legco's adoption of a motion calling for the death penalty to be abolished.

At the same time, I am taking the chance to thank all the concerned members of Legco and of the public for their princi- pled effort insuring that the death penalty is formally aboli- shed in Hong Kong.

I would like as well to call on the Government of Hong Kong to ensure that a bill providing for abolition is submitted to Legco for adoption as soon as possible.

I would be grateful if you could keep me informed about these matters.

would like to take this opportunity to send you my best regards.

I

A. BRETON.
