Located in a new business centre, the Hyundai Store proved an effective venue for selling Hong Kong products. More than 20 Hong Kong companies set up counters in the store and achieved total sales of HK$46 million during the two- week event. Two fashion shows held in the Inter-Continental Hotel to complement the store promotion also drew large crowds. Altogether, over 178,000 customers visited the store for the event, 11% more than normal.
The potential of South Korea as a major market for Hong Kong products prompted
the TDC to organise Hong Kong participa- tion in major trade fairs organised by the Korea Trade Promotion Corporation and the Korea Exhibition Centre. These in- cluded the Korea International Jewellery & Watch Fair, Seoul International Toy Fair, Korea Electronics Show, Seoul Inter- national Gift & Fashion Jewellery Fair, Seoul International Fashion Fair and Seoul STOFF '90. A watch and clock delegation organised by the TDC in conjunction with the Hong Kong Watch Manufacturers As- sociation, also visited Seoul in September 1990.
