I have the honor to inform you that a regional meeting entitled "WIPO Regional Round Table on the Role of Industrial Property Offices in Support of Industrial Property Policies and Management in Enterprises" is being organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in cooperation with the Government of Thailand and the Japanese Patent Office. The Round Table will be held in Phuket, Thailand, from January 23 to 25, 1991, and will be financed from a fund-in-trust established by WIPO following a contribution by the Government of Japan.

Invitations to the Round Table are being sent to the heads of the Industrial Property Offices and to selected industry representatives in Bangladesh, China India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Viet Nam and Hong Kong.

The purpose of the Round Table is to examine the ways. in which the industrial property offices in the countries of the Asia and Pacific region can assist industrial enterprises in the formulation and attainment of their commercial objectives, through the effective use of the industrial property system.
