CAT 2 VISITS: JORGE RANGEL AND FATHER LANCELOT

We owe you an update on this.

Rangel has been appointed Under Secretary (Minister equivalent) for Education, Administration and Youth effective 15 May. He told me last week he waA still very interested in visiting England and wondered if the autumn (October) would be possible.

Grateful for your advice on this and whether in the light of his appointment Rangel might merit a Cat 1 visit.

He would of course require a slightly different type of visit which we could advise on closer the time. One aspect of it

are ungighted de youth, Rangel 12 keen to kneip that sort of programmes the UK has to motivate youth. I said I thought traditionally that was something for schools and homes not the government, but would check.

Father Lancelot is also still keen to come but he too is looking at the autumn.

I know this all sounds like manyana manyana but I think both of them will come this year. Apologies meanwhile for the inconvenience of postponement.
