Our assessment : Most new LegCo appointees are mainly professionals and academics who are expected to be competent and rational and without obvious political affliation
is generally believed that Government has taken a sensible approach in balancing the composition of LegCo. Although conflicting ideas are expected in the coming LegCo meetings, the maintenance of prosperity and stability in Hong Kong is perceived to be the objective of Government's appointment strategy.
