The Concerned British Expatriates' Society

We continue to believe that our situation is an anomaly not intended by the Government. We are convinced that no responsible person would object to what we seek. After all, we ask only that the mechanism of the application process be modified. We do not see any unwelcome precedents being set since the problem can So easily be restricted to Hong Kong.

You mentioned during our meeting that we should write to our MPs to educate them as to this particular problem, in advance of the forthcoming debate on Hong Kong. I have asked our members to do this. You also mentioned the possibility of tabling an amendment to the proposed bill, to cater for our particular cirsumstances.

I cannot express adequately our gratitude for such assistance should you feel able to help us in this way.

Yours sincerely,

Julian Walsh

Chairman
