Norman Tebbit's letter to all Conservative MPs urging them to vote against the nationality bill when it is presented td Parliament has been widely reported in the UK media. A copy of the letter is in MIFF. You will notice that he has changed the line of his arguments. Previously, he put emphasis on the Conservative Party's election pledges against immigration and attacked the nationality package as one which would re-open the immigration flood-gate. He has changed tack in his letter by emphasizing the Chinese dimension. This is likely to hit a more respondent chord among MPS recent adverse Chinese reaction to the nationality package is a matter of concern to many MPs whom we have talked to.
