These are the annual average costs of keeping officers in grades DS5, DS7 and DS9 in Hong Kong (G7, HEO and EO in Home Office gradings). They are not able to provide comparative costs based on family circumstances (their system is geared to average costs) and the attached figures would equate to a married officer.
7. In addition I am informed that the total costs of DS seconded officers to the Hong Kong Government are totally paid for by HKG (except for transfer grants and clothing allowance). HKG provide the accommodation, furniture and maintenance without recourse to the British Government. There is no precedent that we are aware of for provision of or discount on living accommodation from HKG for other DS officers in the BTC, CTU or JLG in Hong Kong.
