would have slightly different "prime age" band which scores the maximum points on age, e.g. aged 30-40 for the police and the Immigration Department, aged 35-45 for the Customs & Excise Department, Correctional Services Department, Fire Services Department,
Independent Commission Against Corruption and Royal Hong Kong Auxiliary Air Force. Points would be deducted from those outside the "prime age" group.
(b) Experience (weighting : 150)

Experience is regarded as an important selection
criterion because of the need to retain officers with
sufficient experience and expertise to serve in the transitional period and beyond 1997. Each full year of service in the respective disciplined service is accorded 10 points to a maximum of 150 points.
Education and training (weighting : 150)
In order to select officers with potential and ability to rise to more senior positions in the years to come, general education and professional training are taken into account. The 150 points will be distributed between academic and professional qualifications.
(i) General education (Max. 75)
10 points for completion of Primary 6, 20 points for completion of Secondary Form 3, 30
