SEGRET
Before the 2nd Reading takes place in mid-April, the UK team will require much support from HKG in providing supplementary information for preparing publicity material, speeches, notes and answers to anticipated questions for ministers. For instance, detail explanatory notes on the award of qualifications points etc. for each of the occupational group. Another face-to-face meeting in April might be
necessary.
The presence of HK representatives in London during the Committee stage in the House of Commons in May will be necessary.
e)
All being well, the bill will go before the Lords in late June or early July.
f)
After the bill is passed, a Scheme Document will have to be laid before Parliament which will
require a resolution.
61.
The UK Team will let HKG have sight of the draft bill and the reaction of ministers to the draft Scheme document as soon as possible.
