Mr Kostecki said that his reasons for coming to see me were two-fold:
(a) as the UK was the sovereign power in Hong Kong, we might interested in his programme, and it may be appropriate for him to discuss it with the authorities in Hong Kong. Without saying so in as many words, he inade it clear that he would himself 'welcome the opportunity of talking to someone (presumably dealing with re-settlement affairs) in the Colony. I said that
I would report his comments to London and Hong Kong with the request than I should be told the name of any contagi (01 Indeed any other message) to pass on

Kostecki will be returning to Canada on 28 June. Any message after that date would therefore best be passed to him through the High Commission Ottawa. ¡

(b) He wondered whether there might be a role for some of his Chinese in teaching English in Poland. He mentioned the new English college being established at Przemysl and had already been in touch with the local voyvod. raised the possibility of Know How Fund support, but also said that the Canadians were themselves showing interest 111 a programme for the teaching of both English and French. i did not comment on this proposal beyond suggesting that he contact Mr Howcroft at the British Council.
