Thank you for your minute of 6 Main plug laken of 30 January. The Chief Minister raised this with me when he was in London to see Mr Maude on 1 March. I promised to. let him know very soon when we might be able to give him a copy of our legislation. I would be grateful for your advice as to when this might be.
2. Perhaps I could just clarify one point? Mr Bossano only intends to introduce a similar scheme to ours because Mr Maude has persuaded him not to rock our boat. His basic interest,
however, is in attracting investment from Hong Kong. It is therefore in our interests to keep him as fully informed as possible, so that he is not tempted towards a scheme which might attract people (as opposed to some of their capital) out of Hong Kong.
