ARTICLE IV

(1.

Assistance shall be rafused if the Central Authority of

Requestad Party determines that execution of a request would

7 seriously impair the essential interests of the Raquestad Party.]

2. Assistance may be (refused or postponed if execution of a

request could prejudice an investigation or proceedings being conducted within the Requestad Party's jurisdiction (or impose an

excessive burden on the resources of that Party.]

3. Before radusing to grant a request for assistance the Central

Authority of the Requested Party shall consider whether assistance

may be granted subject to such conditions as it deems necessary.

If the Central Authority of the Requesting Party accapts assistance

subject to these conditions, the Requesting Party shall comply with

the conditions.
