British business involvement in Hong Kong
As there has been a good deal of correspondence
recently about the question of British business involvement in Hong Kong, you might be interested in seeing a speech which the Financial Secretary gave recently in the City. As you will see, the first part deals both with the considerable extent of existing involvement and how to encourage the right attitude for further involvement.
The speech had some moderate, and favourable, coverage in the Hong Kong press. Unfortunately though, although I gather that there were several representatives of the UK media present, the speech was given no coverage in the British press.
