HKEA has been conducting entrance examinations on behalf of 7 PRC universities. Approval has been given in November 1987 for HKEA to continue to conduct such examinations for the next three years (up to 1990). The intention is to review the situation in 1990. It has already been decided that the HKEA Ordinance should not be amended to delete the

requirement for it to seek prior approval for conducting

examinations for overseas

bodies. The Advanced Level

examination will be available in Chinese as well as English

versions from 1992 (i.e. for courses beginning in September 1990.)
