Preparatory action already started
The Patent Steering Committee is expected to report by late 1990 on a new patent system with free standing patent laws for Hong Kong. A specialist Committee of the Law Reform Commission is working on comprehensive free standing copy right laws for Hong Kong. Hong Kong's continued participation in international conventions relating to intellectual property is under consideration.
