1. I enclose a copy of a letter from Guo Fengmin to Tony Galsworthy expressing his gratitude in particular for the first-class arrangements and hospitality provided by COI after the JLG meeting. Tony Galsworthy has commented that the exercise was well worthwhile. I should be most grateful if you could arrange for Vernon Thorne, Brian Simmons and all others connected with the visit to see this.
2. I should also like to add my own thanks to you, Sue Geddes and others who helped organise the visit. I know that circumstances were less than ideal, and in particular that vital pieces of information were unavailable until the last minute! Neverthless it appears to have been a great success:
Ambassador Guo's letter is a testimony to the value of the visit. The Nigel Kennedy concert was evidently a very good choice!
