Entry into force of Amendment to Article I(a)

The Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations has the honour to refer to the Plant Protection Agreement for the Asia and Pacific Region, which entered into force on 2 July 1956.

The FAO Council, at its Eighty-fourth Session (November 1983), approved, by Resolution 1/84, an amendment to Article I(a) of the Agreement to include the People's Republic of China in the definition of the Region.
