The Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations has the honour to extend an invitation to observers to attend the Twentieth FAO Regional Conference for Asia and the Pacific, which will be held in the Conference Hall of the Kunlun Hotel, Beijing, from 23 to 27 April 1990, at the kind invitation of the Government of the People's Republic of China. The Inaugural Ceremony will take place at 10.00 hours on Monday 23 April.

This Regional Conference is being convened under the provisions of Article VI-5 of the FAO Constitution. It is open to all Member Nations in the FAO Asia and Southwest Pacific Regions, to representatives of the United Nations Bodies and Specialized Agencies, and also to observers.

The meetings will be conducted in Chinese, English and French. The Provisional Annotated Agenda (APRC/90/1), an Information Note (APRC/90/INF/1), the Provisional Timetable (APRC/90/INF/2) and a Provisional List of Documents (APRC/90/INF/3) are enclosed.

The Director-General would appreciate receiving by 23 March 1990 the names, official titles and addresses of the observers designated to attend.
