1. I have still not received a response to my minutes to you of February and 15 March, regarding your interest, if any, in continued UK membership of the Commission.

2. I should remind you that if amendments to the Plant Protection Agreement requiring the UK to pay an annual contribution of US$5000 to the Commission come into force, the

funds would have to be met, at least partly, by MAFF. As I explained before, ODA has no interest in continued membership of the Commission and would therefore not expect to make a

contribution.
