I apologise for the length of time it has taken to reply to your minute of 16 February on the membership of the APPPC but as you are aware from our earlier telephone conversations it has been necessary for me to consult with a number of colleagues in this Department before a decision could be taken.
I am now writing to confirm that, as far as MAFF is concerned, UK membership of the APPPC is no longer necessary.
