countries and has provided a variety of services to governments and to international agencies, particularly in the assessment of training needs for government departments and the establishment of National Institutes of Public Administration.
I look forward in particular to meeting members of the NPC, for although I intend my visit to cover questions of law and administration, the NPC will have it on record that I hold as well a position as an adviser to parliamentarians. I see from the the Beijing Review of 14-20 May 1990 that at the recent Beijing Conference on Law for World Peace and Development, the subject of Human Rights was on the agenda. As you know, I am the Legal Adviser to the all-party British Parliamentary Human Rights Group; so I would be very interested to know from those involved in the Beijing conference how in general the conference went, and to learn about the contribution made to it by Chinese lawyers.
I propose to arrive in Beijing on the morning of Saturday 14 July on Cathay Pacific from Hongkong, departing back to Hongkong at lunchtime on Thursday 19th. I shall be responsible for all my own expenses in China; and I look forward very much to seeing you again.
Yours suiverely,
Bran Wrobel
