We recommend for your approval of the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs the enrolment of Mr M O'Sullivan, Senior Inspector

Inspector of Police, as a member of Her Majesty's Overseas Civil Service. His application is attached.

Mr O'Sullivan, born on 22 September 1956, was recruited as an Inspector of Police in the Royal Hong Kong Police Force on overseas agreement terms on 23 April 1981 through the Hong Kong Government Office in London. A copy of the London Office's letter of appointment ref. PI/80/9/55 dated 12 January 1981 is attached. Mr O'Sullivan was promoted to Senior Inspector of Police on 23.4.1986. In accordance with the standing arrangement, the Civil Service Branch approved his application for transfer to the permanent establishment on 25 September 1989.

We would be grateful if the approval of the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs could be obtained for the enrolment of Mr O'Sullivan as a member of Her Majesty's Overseas Civil Service.
