SIERRA LEONE CONSULAR REPRESENTATION IN HONG KONG

1. FCO telegram number 33 of 9 February advised me of the procedure to be followed if Sierra Leone wished to appoint an Honorary Consul in Hong Kong. Hong Kong telegram number 618 of 19 February to FCO confirmed that the Colony would have no objections to such an appointment.

2. Despite the advice that an approach should be made through the Sierra Leone High Commission in London (which I duly passed on to the Minister of Foreign Affairs), I have now received the enclosed Note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs requesting agreement to the appointment of Mr John Ying-Bung Wu as Honorary Consul-General of Sierra Leone in Hong Kong. A curriculum vitae is attached.

3. I should be grateful if you would take the appropriate action and inform me what reply I should send to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
