To ensure the safety of China-imported vegetables to prevent further outbreaks of chemical poisoning
As a long-term measure, both MSB and the Chinese authorities have agreed to meet alternately in Hong Kong and in China at least twice a year with the aim of improving the safety of China-imported vegetables as well as other foodstuffs.
The Cor- poratisation of RTHK
To establish RTHK as an independent statutory public broadcasting corporation, under its own Board of Governors. The new corporation will be funded primarily through Government subvention.
Work is in progress on the detailed legislative, staffing and financial arrangements. It is aimed to establish the Board of Governors during 1990. However, RTHK will remain a government department during the transition period 1990-91. RTHK should be disestablished and the financial
arrangements by completed by the financial year 1991-92.
