Satellite Links

In the light of the Executive Council's decision in principle in favour Of liberalising current restrictions on satellite TV signal reception, an application by the licensee to downlink (receive) such signals would be considered favourably. An application to uplink (transmit) would, however, have to be given special consideration by the Executive Council on its individual merits. No assurance can be given on the outcome of such consideration.

The Executive Council has taken a policy decision in favour Of exempting satellite television receive only (TVRO ) equipment from Licensing where signals intended for general reception only are to be received.
